One address covers everything: [email protected]. Put the page URL in the subject line if you are writing about a specific page, because it makes a correction take minutes instead of an exchange of emails.
Corrections to a dimension get priority over everything else. A wrong clearance figure is the most consequential mistake this site can make, because someone can act on it with a delivery truck. Send the page, the figure you think is wrong, and the specification or standard you are reading it against.
What to send
- A correction. A room size, a ceiling height, a throw distance, a footprint, a stated feature of a specific model. Include where your number comes from, even if it is the manual that shipped in the box, which is frequently more accurate than the listing.
- A discontinued product. If a recommended item is gone rather than merely out of stock, that is worth reporting and it gets replaced.
- A question a page did not answer. These are the most useful messages we get. Several pages on this site exist because somebody asked something obvious that nothing here covered.
- Brand, manufacturer and partnership enquiries. Read the terms below first.
What we cannot do
We cannot tell you whether your specific floor will carry a specific table. A slate table concentrates roughly 700 to 1,000 lb across six or eight feet, which is comparable to a full bookcase or a waterbed and is not usually a problem on a slab or a well built floor. But joist span, spacing, species and condition decide that, nobody can assess them from an email, and the consequence of being wrong is structural. Above a garage, over a long span, or in an older house, that is a question for a structural engineer and the answer typically costs less than the delivery fee.
We also cannot value your used table, appraise an antique, source a part for a discontinued machine, or arbitrate a dispute with a retailer or an installer. Those all need somebody standing in the room.
And we do not offer personal shopping. If you tell us the room dimensions and the budget, the honest answer is going to be a link to a calculator and a buildout, because those already do that work more carefully than an email would.
Brand and partnership enquiries
We are happy to hear from manufacturers, especially about specification corrections and new models. Three things are worth knowing before you write.
- Placement is not for sale. No amount of money puts a product in a roundup or moves it up one. This is not a negotiating position, it is the only thing that makes the recommendations worth anything.
- We do not publish sponsored posts or accept guest posts. Not with disclosure, not without.
- We do not sell links, and link exchange requests are not answered.
What is genuinely useful: accurate dimensioned drawings, clearance recommendations from your own engineering, notice of a model change that alters a footprint, and service part availability. All of that improves the pages and we will use it.
Response times
This is a small operation and every message is read by a person, so a reply usually takes a few days. Corrections get acted on before they get answered, so a page may quietly change before you hear back. If your message is a correction and you do not want to be credited, say so, otherwise we may thank you in the page notes.
Privacy
Anything you send is used to answer you and to fix the site, and nothing else. We do not sell or share addresses. If you use the email capture above, that address goes into a spreadsheet used only to send the thing you asked for and occasional planning material, and every message carries an unsubscribe link. Details are on the privacy policy page.
